Volumetric Glassware

A sampler of glassware that is used to measure volume in the lab helps bridge the gap between the theoretical quanitity that they are hearing so much about and the real quantity that they are so familar with already. 

Curriculum Notes 

This demo helps students to relate visually to the quantity of volume and the metric units that they will be using to measure volume. 

Lead Time 
One day of lead time is required for this project.
Materials 
  • 25mL volumetric pipette
  • pipette pump
  • 50mL buret
  • 250mL graduated cylinder
  • 500mL volumetric flask
Procedure 

These items can be diplayed and passed around the class. 

Safety Precautions 

Glass items are fragile. Handle with care.
